Marianne Borgen is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She has been the mayor of Oslo since 2015.
Borgen was born in Oslo and grew up in the city's working-class district of Grünerløkka. She studied political science at the University of Oslo and worked as a teacher and journalist before entering politics.
Borgen was elected to the Oslo City Council in 2003 and served as the city's deputy mayor from 2009 to 2015. In 2015, she was elected mayor of Oslo, becoming the city's first female mayor.
As mayor, Borgen has focused on improving public transport, housing, and education in Oslo. She has also been a vocal advocate for climate change action.
Borgen is a member of the Labour Party's national board and the party's deputy leader.
