Bouleau Gilles was born on May 25, 1962, in Paris, France. He is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA). He began his career as a civil servant in the French Ministry of Finance. In 1995, he was elected to the French National Assembly, representing the department of Hauts-de-Seine. He served in the National Assembly until 2012. In 2007, he was appointed Minister of State for Industry and Energy. He held this position until 2010. In 2012, he was elected to the French Senate, representing the department of Hauts-de-Seine. He is currently a member of the Senate's Committee on Finance.
