Christina PrincessoftheNetherlands

Dutch royalty, the youngest of the four daughters of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard, sister of Queen Beatrix. While pregnant with her, her mother visited an orphanage where she caught German measles, leaving Marijke born with an incurable visual handicap. After finishing high school she changed her name to Christina, in 1963. She took singing lessons, sometimes singing classical songs at fund-raisers. Christina married a commoner, Jorge Guillermo with a residence in Havana. They had three children who do not come into consideration for the throne. Divorced in 1996, Princess Christina returned with her children to live in the United States. After her mothers death she lived partly in London, partly in Monte Argentario, Italy. In June 2018, it was announced that Princess Christina had been diagnosed with bone cancer. Christina died in the early hours of 16 August 2019, aged 72, in Noordeinde Palace, The Hague, Netherlands.
