Kirk Justin

American infanticide victim, allegedly killed by his mother on March 8, 2005. Justin, a beautiful three-year-old child, was strangled to death in his Carver, MA home. His mother was charged with his death; she maintains that she had a message that he was the devil and then told her sister that she herself was a bad person. Just before 5 AM EST on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, police were summoned by an emergency call. As they arrived in front of the Kirk home, they received a second call that a young boy had stopped breathing. Justin was pronounced dead at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Justins parents, Helen and Joseph, were divorced after a ten-year marriage and two children. Joseph Kirk has been a respected on-call firefighter since 1994. After he and Helen divorced, the two children lived with Helen. She had applied for two restraining orders against her husband but one was rejected outright and the other is not active. Helen worked as a nurses’ aid. Helen’s sister, who lived with her and the children, called Helen “depressed and desperately troubled.” Helen Kirk had been hospitalized for depression in 2002 and was prescribed medication.
