American chess master who, while a student in Chicago, became that citys Chess Champion in 1966. The following year he became the Illinois state Chess Champion, a title which he held through 1970. That same year, he was a member of the U.S. Student Chess Team, which competed at Haifa, Israel and won first place at World Student Team Chess. Three years later he was back in Chicago, serving as a tournament director and an executive of chess playing out of Chicago. Read less
